Please join us in welcoming a new pediatrician, Dr. Jason Simpson, to our practice! Dr. Simpson will be seeing patients in our Amory office starting August 1.
Dr. Jason Simpson is a pediatrician practicing in our Amory office. He is proud to serve the Amory community where he and his wife grew up. His commitment to his patients goes beyond mere professional obligation – it’s a mission grounded in personal experience and a genuine desire to support children and their families with their health.
Dr. Simpson initially decided to become a doctor to help people. “Many review boards will chuckle when they hear that because it is so often said, but I believe it is said often because it is truly the core reason. When you or a family member is sick, it places you in a uniquely vulnerable state, no matter who you are outside the hospital. I decided to become a doctor because I wanted to be that person that you could turn to in that moment of vulnerability and know that you or your family member were going to get the best care possible.”
Dr. Simpson decided to become a pediatrician for a very personal reason. During his second year of medical school, his son, Gideon, was diagnosed with bilateral multicystic dysplastic kidneys while still in the womb. Dr. Simpson and his wife were able to spend a brief day and a half with Gideon before he passed away. Initially, the experience pushed him away from pediatrics, but eventually, he found his calling in it. “With time, I developed a love of coming alongside families as they navigated the healthcare of their children, well and sick alike.”
As a pediatrician, Dr. Simpson relishes the opportunity to watch his young patients grow and develop. The joy of seeing them learn to walk, talk, play sports, perform in musicals, and accomplish their goals is what he considers the most rewarding part of his career.
Dr. Simpson aims to develop meaningful relationships with his patients and their families and to become a trusted resource they can always rely on. As a father of three children under 10, Dr. Simpson understands the challenges of parenting firsthand. His advice not only stems from his clinical knowledge as a physician but also from his personal experiences as a parent. He invites all questions, even the tough ones, assuring his patients’ families that they’re not alone – they’re all in this together.
When not at work, Dr. Simpson loves spending time with his wife and kids, usually partaking in activities they love. They enjoy disc golfing, playing soccer, and being active in their local church. Now that his medical training is complete, Dr. Simpson is excited to explore new interests and hobbies. He welcomes any recommendations, so don’t hesitate to suggest something when you see him!
