Tami Brooks, MD

Dr. Tami Brooks is a pediatrician practicing in our Starkville office. She joined P&S in 2020.

Inspiration to become a pediatrician came early for Dr. Brooks. Growing up with asthma, she still fondly remembers her pediatrician, Dr. Marcelene O’Neal, who was one of the very few female pediatricians in MS at that time.

“She was smart, kind, and so compassionate! She was everything I wanted to be when I grew up.”

As she moved forward in her education, Dr. Brooks continued to find that she enjoyed being around children, who make her smile and laugh every day. She also loves watching her patients grow and getting to know their families.

“I love the relationships I build with my patients, making sure they feel loved and know I am interested in all aspects of their lives and well-being – physical, emotional, and mental.”

As both a parent and physician of over 20 years, Dr. Brooks wants her patients and their parents to know that she understands what fears they are going through today. She strives to provide the very best for her patients, just as she would for her own children.

In addition to a passion for preventative medicine for children and adolescents, Dr. Brooks is particularly interested in asthma, skin disorders, and ADHD.

Dr. Brooks and her husband, Carl, have 2 college-age sons and are die-hard Mississippi State fans. She is also an enthusiastic advocate for children both locally and in the state via the MS Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. You can also find Dr. Brooks taking long walks on MSU’s campus or watching her son’s swim meets.
